RESIDENTS from two villages have begun their Jubilee year celebration with the planting of two oak trees.

The Blackbourne Tree Group planted an oak in Honington and Sapiston to mark the start of their celebrations.

Each tree was planted either side of the River Blackbourne which separates the two communities.

The trees were planted by Lady Henrietta St George, the daughter of the late Duke of Grafton from the Euston Estate. Lady Henrietta lives in Sapiston.

The tree group was formed three years ago and is also starting to prepare ground for a wild flower meadow in the Blackbourne Tree Area by the bridge between both villages.
