A NEW branch of the local Conservative Association has been launched in Bury St Edmunds town centre.
As an offshoot of the Bury Constituency Conservative Association, it was formed by a group of existing members who were keen to start a forum which focused on bringing like-minded people together on a social basis.
Sarah Stamp, secretary of the branch, said: “Our aim is not to be overtly political. We are hoping to have a lively and varied programme of events, with something that will appeal to everyone and that cover everyday issues that people are interested in talking about.”
The branch is open to all Conservative members living in Bury and new people interested in local issues are encouraged to go along.
Its next meeting will be on June 12. For details, contact Mrs Stamp on 01284 769360 or chairman Robert Everitt on 01284 769000.
