A new chairman and vice chairman have been appointed to the Theatre Royal’s board of trustees.
Stephen Bourne and Derek Blake were unanimously elected to the respective roles to help develop the Bury St Edmunds theatre’s future business model.
It follows the departure of former chairman Brian Stewart and the decision to consult with the public over a potential joint management with The Apex.
Mr Bourne originally trained as a chartered accountant and is President of Cambridge University Press, having been chief executive since 2002.
He is chairman of top regional orchestral company Britten Sinfonia.
Mr Blake, who was a senior official with the Bank of England, returns to the Theatre Royal after retiring from the Board in 2011 after eight years as a trustee and two as chairman.
He has recently been instrumental in the establishment of Stour Valley Community School in Clare - the first Free School in the country to be approved for opening.
