THE NEW landlords of the Old Cannon Brewery, in Bury St Edmunds, say they are going to continue with pub’s tradition of in-house brewing.

Experienced landlords Garry Clark and partner Hannah Breen took over at the pub on June 20.

The couple already manage five pubs in the area as part of their business – The Anglia Pub Company.

They say The Old Cannon Brewery will maintain its traditional beers, including the famous Gunner’s Daughter, the Blonde Bombshell and their annual brew, St Edmund’s Head.

Garry said the opportunity to be able to brew beer on site was a very exciting prospect.

He said: “It was really exciting getting hold of the keys for the Old Cannon Brewery.

“It is a rare opportunity to manage a pub that actually brews its own beer at the pub itself.

“Our beer will travel about 20 paces from where it is brewed.”
