The Government has confirmed a funding agreement with the Thetford Alternative Provision Free School which opens the way for it to open in September in the town.
This will provide education for pupils aged 11 to 16.
In a letter to Elizabeth Truss, South West Norfolk MP, John Nash, Under Secretary of State for Schools, said the 40 place school will temporarily be sited at the Guide and Scout Activity centre at Two Mile Bottom.
Its permanent site will be Thomas Paine Sixth Form Centre in Staniforth Road, Thetford.
Liz Truss said: “This is excellent news for Thetford and I congratulate Nico Dobben and his colleagues for all their commitment in securing funding for the new school. This will provide a much needed resource in the town and I look forward to visiting the new school in the future and meeting all the staff and students.”
