The manager of the arc in Bury St Edmunds says he hopes to be able to announce the names of a new food outlet and clothing retailer soon.

Colin Roberts said he is poised to get a new tenant for the former Jane Norman site – and is just waiting for a deal to be signed.

But he also confirmed that Vero Moda is to close – but said Jack & Jones which operates the shop above is staying although it is likely to move down to the ground floor, leaving the first floor empty.

Meanwhile a unit opposite Carluccio’s, which has been empty since the arc opened in May 2009 has undergone a refit.

“There is no new tenant. The landlord has paid for a complete shop front to be put in and a white box fit out inside,” said Mr Roberts.

He said the previous boards meant that would-be--retailers were unable to see the space inside. Mr Roberts added the shop front should help attract new tenants.
