New food and clothing retailers for arc Bury St Edmunds could be named soon says boss

The manager of the arc in Bury St Edmunds says he hopes to be able to announce the names of a new food outlet and clothing retailer soon.

Colin Roberts said he is poised to get a new tenant for the former Jane Norman site – and is just waiting for a deal to be signed.

But he also confirmed that Vero Moda is to close – but said Jack & Jones which operates the shop above is staying although it is likely to move down to the ground floor, leaving the first floor empty.

Meanwhile a unit opposite Carluccio’s, which has been empty since the arc opened in May 2009 has undergone a refit.

“There is no new tenant. The landlord has paid for a complete shop front to be put in and a white box fit out inside,” said Mr Roberts.

He said the previous boards meant that would-be--retailers were unable to see the space inside. Mr Roberts added the shop front should help attract new tenants.
