THE new chief executive of Suffolk County Council has started her first week in the post.
Deborah Cadman, who was chief executive at St Edmundsbury Borough Council, says she is prepared to ‘tackle the challenges’ ahead.
They include £50 million in budget cuts over the next two financial years and a redesign of the way the authority works.
There are also plans to reduce the cost of senior management and cut the number and cost of public buildings in the county.
She said: “I’ve been genuinely touched by the way people have supported me following my appointment. For me this is the most exciting job in Suffolk and I’m thrilled that I now have the opportunity to tackle the challenges it presents. I’m going to use my experience and passion to make a difference for the whole of Suffolk.”
