GREENE King has launched a new beer to join its ‘Speckled’ family as today kicks of this year’s Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court.
Old Golden Hen is aimed at premium lager drinkers looking for more taste as well as appealing to existing ale drinkers.
It joins Old Speckled Hen but with a lighter strength at 4.1per cent ABV.
The beer was created by head brewer John Bexton and uses the Tasmanian galaxy hop and pale malts to create its light golden colour.
Mr Bexon said: “It is perfect for all occasions but I recommend that it is best enjoyed chilled with friends.”
The beer comes in 500ml bottles and will be on sale in supermarkets. It will be available in pubs from the early autumn.
Reporter Laura Smith has been at the preview of this year’s festival and you can see her report in Friday’s Bury Free Press.
