AN EXPLOSION of music and dance will sweep through Bury St Edmunds town centre next weekend as part of an annual event.
The Churchgate Showcase, The Big Street Dance, promises fun for all the family centred around Churchgate Street, Hatter Street, Whiting Street and Langton Place on Saturday, July 14, from 10am to 4pm.
The packed programme includes Chinese dragon dancers, Fringe musicians, King Edward VI School dance company and Irish dancers.
There will be sing-a-long 60s songs with James Hogg, Kinga’s zumba group, the Aquarius Singers, Bury St Edmunds Reel Club, the Silvermist Majorettes and the Bury St Edmunds Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.
Special guest dancers from Rwanda are due to appear in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, a barn dance will be held at the Athenaeum, on Angel Hill, from 7.30-10.30pm.
A tea dance led by The Ballroom Experience Company is at the Hunter Club, in Guildhall Street, on Sunday, July 15, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
