Mum and daughter promise curry with love

Have your say

A MOTHER and daughter duo have the recipe for success after launching a curry business for the health conscious.

Carol and Clare Bennett have run Curry With Love on Bury St Edmunds market since November and have received rave reviews from customers.

They offer ‘authentic hand-blended spices’ made from freshly prepared ingredients to cook curries at home.

Clare, 33, of Bury, who was a police officer and is training to be a counsellor and psychotherapist, said: “We’ve always been quite keen cooks and quite health conscious – mum used to run a slimming club – so we knew we could come up with a concept that was healthy and quick.”

Her dad, John, who has sold optical wear on the market for 28 years, offered them part of his stall.

Clare added: “We started off with eight curries and it went really well. We had lots of return customers so we developed the range to 11 curries, three side dishes and pilau rice.”

They are on the market, on Cornhill, every Saturday and hope to have a stall on a Wednesday after Easter. Visit
