The Care Quality Commission is ‘considering what action to take’ following an inspection of a Mildenhall care home.

On November 6 last year, Mabbs Hall care home was issued a formal warning by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

A follow-up inspection, found the home had failed to address several areas of concern.

A spokesperson for CQC said: “CQC carried out an inspection at Mabbs Hall care home in Mildenhall, Suffolk, on November 29 to follow up on progress made in relation to warning notices issued to the provider following an earlier inspection.

“Inspectors found the provider had not complied with the warning notices.

“An unannounced inspection took place at the home again on Tuesday and on Wednesday, January 29 and 30.

“CQC is now considering what action it might take.”

Areas where the home had failed to improve on November 29 included the management of medicines, the care and welfare of those using the service and the meeting of nutritional needs.

Mabbs Hall care home is owned by MNS Care who have appointed their director of care, Gillian Robinson, acting manager at the home.

She said following the second inspection MNS care had taken action and brought in a ‘crisis management team’.

Other areas where
inspectors found action was required concerned the safety and availability of equipment, staffing levels, record keeping and the assessment of services.

Mrs Robinson said since the inspection on November 29 more staff had been
recruited and the home’s priority was ensuring their clients received good levels of care.
