Suffolk’s only standard-gauge heritage railway welcomed hundreds of visitors at its grand steam gala last weekend.
Mid Suffolk Light Railway, at Brockford, entertained large crowds with its unique collection of steam engines.
John Reeve, marketing manager, said: “It was delightful. Children were fascinated to see how trains functioned in the first half of the twentieth century.”
The event won critical acclaim from the Heritage Railway Association in 2012, making it one of Suffolk’s top attractions.
This year’s activities included a track-side walk and a sell-out real ale bar.
MSLR encouraged guests to donate £20 to help restore its statement locomotive. Donors received free tickets for a steam engine cab ride.
