AN ARTISAN marmalade maker has won two highly coveted silver awards.

Nikki Booth, owner of Nikki’s Homemade, Red Lodge, has won two awards at the World’s Original Marmalade Awards. Her Seville orange and Seville orange with whisky marmalades both picked up silver awards in the competition’s artisan marmalade category.

Nikki founded Nikki’s Homemade two years ago.

She said: “The Christmas after I was made redundant I made chutneys and marmalades for my family, they all really enjoyed them and said they would be good enough to sell.

“My marmalade is very different to what you would buy from large-scale producers, it has no preservatives in it and all the ingredients are completely natural.”

Nikki has been tweaking her award-winning recipes for the last two years during the six-week annual period when Seville oranges are perfect for marmalade making.

Nikki’s marmalade can be purchased from The Pantry, Newmarket, and Benwell Farmers Market.
