A MAN who admitted growing more than 350 cannabis plants at a house in Red Lodge has been jailed for 12 months.
Ipswich Crown Court heard that Xhan-Tien Do, 24, was discovered cultivating 367 plants after police were alerted by a strong smell coming from the property.
Michael Crimp, prosecuting, told the court that Do had been looking after the cannabis crop for two months after finding himself with no other way of earning money.
Joanne Eley, in mitigation, said Do had come to the UK in the mistaken expectation of being able to earn large amounts of money he could send home to Vietnam.
Do is expected to be deported after serving half his prison term.
