A 60-year-old man has appeared in court facing seven charges of gross indecency and indecent assault all relating to boys under the age of 16.

A 60-year-old man has appeared in court facing seven charges of gross indecency and indecent assault all relating to boys under the age of 16.

It is alleged that Simon Warr, of Great West Road, Hounslow, committed five of the offences in Great Finborough between 1979 and 1984.

He faces three charges of gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14 and two charges of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 16.

Two more offences are alleged to have been committed in Holbrook from 1989 to 1994.

These include one offence of gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14 and one offence of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 16.

Appearing at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court today Warr spoke only to confirm his name and address.

Tariq Tayara, defending Warr, indicated he would plead not guilty to the charges.

Warr was released on conditional bail and will appear at Ipswich Crown Court on October 10.
