A Mildenhall man who raped and sexually abused a boy and a girl about 20 years ago has been jailed for 10 years.
Geraldo Tucciarone, 51, of St John’s Close, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court yesterday, where he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
Tucciarone had pleaded guilty to two offences of sexual assault and two offences of rape. The offences took place in the early to mid 1990s. He was finally arrested and charged in January this year.
The court heard how Tucciarone had sexually touched a 10-year-old girl at an address in Mildenhall and about a year later raped the same girl at a caravan.
Prosecutor Riel Karmy-Jones said the girl had told police that when she was raped, Tucciarone had held her tightly with both arms around her.
On a later date Tucciarone had turned his attentions to a boy who was aged about 10 and who lived in Hinckley, Leicestershire, said Miss Karmy-Jones.
The boy was sexually abused by Tucciarone before about six months later being raped.
Miss Karmy-Jones said that before the rape took place Tucciarone had shown the boy indecent video images.
Tuccione has also been banned indefinitely from having any unsupervised contact with under 16s and was ordered to sign on the sexual offences register.
Defending, Andrew Shaw, said that Tucciarone had no previous convictions and had fully admitted what he had done.
