Man found in pond named

A man who died after being found unconcious in a pond in Wattisham has been named as Michael Bradwell.

Mr Bradwell, 52, of Valley Road, Little Blakenham near Ipswich, was found unconscious at a farmhouse on Clay Hill Lane just before 6pm on Monday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and used CPR and a defibrillator to try and revive him.

An RAF Sea King helicopter, from nearby Wattisham Airfield, landed in a field next to the property and took Mr Bradwell to Ipswich Hospital accompanied by paramedics.

A Suffolk Accident Rescue Service spokesman said: “Despite everyone’s best efforts the man died in hospital overnight.

“Out thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”

An inquest into Mr Bradwell’s death is due to be opened and adjourned today.
