A man from Hartest has denied 16 sexual offences alleged to have involved a young girl.

Martin Knock, 49, of The Row, is due to stand trial at Ipswich Crown Court in February.

Today Knock pleaded not guilty to 12 charges of sexual assault on a child and four charges of sexual assault of a child by penetration.

Each of the alleged offences, committed in West Suffolk between July 2007 and July 2010, involves a child who was said to be aged under 13 years at the time.

Judge David Goodin told Knock that his trial was expected to last for up to four days.

Knock will continue to be granted bail until his next court appearance on condition that he does not contact three named individuals.
