A 24-year-old man has been charged with six counts of burglary including three relating to incidents in Wickhambrook.

Patrick Burke, of the Bury St Edmunds area, is accused of burglary in Boyden Close, Wickhambrook, on Thursday November 14, as well as further burglaries in the village, in Thorns Close, on October 22, and The Thorns on October 31.

He faces burglary charges in Withersfield Road, Haverhill, on October 28 and two burglaries in Essex on May 23 at properties in Billericay and Basildon.

Burke was also charged with criminal damage relating to an incident at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on November 15.

He appeared at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where he was remanded in custody to return to court at a date yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old woman from Basildon who was arrested on suspicion of burglary, also in relation to the incident in Wickhambrook on Thursday November 14, has been bailed to return to Bury Police Investigation Centre on Wednesday December 18 pending further enquiries.
