After spending a year growing a handlebar moustache, Arthur Diaper shaved off just half of and raised £2,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Arthur, who runs Diaper Poultry, of Haughley New Street, with his brothers, originally hoped to raise £1,000 through the madcap fund-raiser, however managed to bank twice that amount.

He said: “I’m thrilled we reached the £2,000 mark. The Hospice is such a good cause.”

Arthur spent nearly three weeks in January and February walking around with lopsided facial hair to convince people to give to the charity.
