Research published by the Taxpayers Alliance has revealed 10 employees at Suffolk County Council and 15 at Norfolk County Council earned more than £100,000 in salary, pension contributions and compensation in 2012/13.
The report, published on Tuesday, revealed six named and three unnamed Suffolk County Council employees were on the list, in Norfolk there were 10 named and five unnamed.
A Suffolk County Council spokesman said: “We as an authority are bringing down public sector pay and the number of senior roles as part of our ongoing efficiency plans.”
The biggest remuneration package in the East of England was received by David White, the former Chief Executive of Norfolk County Council, with £400,800. The report revealed that nationally, 2,181 council staff earned more than £100,000 - a fall of 5 per cent on the previous year’s 2,295.
