The ninth Walk on the Westside charity walk took place yesterday to raise money to build the UK’s first dedicated Centre of Excellence for secondary breast cancer.

The event offered both a four and an eleven mile route through the beautiful grounds of Ickworth House in Horringer.

Bonk Tasker, from organisers Suffolk Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said “Secondary breast cancer - cancer that has returned and spread - remains incurable and claims 1,000 lives every month.

“There is a huge need for continued research against secondary breast cancer, to work to eradicate the fear for women who have had breast cancer, that it might return and that this time they won’t beat it.”
