PROBLEM SOLVED: Ian Toulson has produced a website for villages

Frustrated villager Ian Toulson has produced a website to allow his and neighbouring villages to advertise upcoming events, for free.

Ian, of Walsham-le-Willows, said he had ‘frequently been thwarted by village notice boards overflowing’, with his adverts often covered up by other people’s notices or even ripped down.

Now he has created a website for people in villages bound by Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Diss.

The service, which he is offering for free, allows events to be displayed by category on a ‘village notice board’.

It also contains a rolling calendar enabling events to be posted up to 12 months in advance. Ian hopes this will help avoid clashes of big fund-raisers.

The following villages are served by the site: Bacton, Bardwell, Barningham, Botesdale, Elmswell, Gislingham, Gt Barton, Haughley, Hopton, Ixworth, Pakenham, Rickinghall, Stanton, Thurston, Walsham and Woolpit.

The categories include: charity events, cinema, coffee mornings, drama, fetes, gardens, markets, music, quizzes, sales, talks and walks.
