Residents in Brandon are being reminded to remain vigilant after police received a report fo a man claiming to be a meter reader.
Around 3pm on Monday (September 1) a suspicious man was seen to look at the electricity meter of a property in Rowan Drive.
The residents had seen the same man do this back in July. On both occasions they called their supplier who said they had no meter readings taking place in the area at those times.
The man made no attempt to enter the house, but his behaviour is described as suspicious. He did no go to any other properties in the road.
He is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall, in his late 20s, with short ginger hair and stubble.
He was wearing a blue fleece and blue trousers, resembling a uniform, and was driving a small Peugeot van.
Anyone with information should call Sgt Ben Clark at Mildenhall Police Station on 101, quoting CAD 389 of 1/9.
Residents are advised to ensure they ask to see the identification of anyone calling at their home.
They are also advised to check the back door is locked when anyone knocks at the door or rings the bell, and not to open the door until they have looked through a window to see who is on the doorstep.
