Cracked up Abbot Close will now be resurfaced along with neighbouring Abbot Road, Suffolk County Council has decided.

As we reported last week, residents who have complained about the state of the road for some time were angry that the Bury St Edmunds close was being left while the road it runs off was being done.

But following a site meeting, the Highways Department has decided the cracks in the road should be filled and the surface dressed at the same time as Abbot Road.

Borough and county councillor David Nettleton, who had taken up the case said: “It’s a victory for the residents and I hope it works well for them.”
