A traffic restriction order (TRO) has been approved for Malthouse Lane, a byway in Bury St Edmunds.

Local residents, businesses and rights of way groups had objected to the TRO which will stop cars and horse-drawn vehicles from using the ‘byway open to all traffic’ behind EMG’s showroom in Fornham Road.

The order, which has been confirmed by Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for roads, will allow it to put up bollards and create a cycle and pedestrian route to a new A14 bridge.
