UPDATE: Woman remains in Addenbrooke’s Hospital after collision with car in Beck Row

A woman remains in hopsital after sustaining serious injuries in a collision with a car in Beck Row yesterday.

Police were called by a member of the public at around 5:45pm to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the A1101 near Rookery Drove.

A black Mercedes collided with a woman in her 60s, who was walking on the pavement, causing her serious injuries.

The woman was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by air ambulance where she remains and is described as being in a stable condition.

The Mercedes driver, a man in his 70s, was taken to West Suffolk Hospital as a precautionary measure.

The road was closed until 11:40pm while the Serious Collision Investigation Team carried out their investigation and recovery of the car.

Police wish to hear from anyone travelling on the A1101 between Littleport in Cambridgeshire and Beck Row who saw the vehicle prior to the collision, or who witnessed the collision itself.
