A man has been hospitalised following a five vehicle collision on the A14 between Risby and Higham this morning.
The inner lane of the dual carriageway was partially blocked but the Highways Agency said it was cleared at 10.30am.
Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the collision at about 7.40am.
Fire crews removed the roof of one vehicle to release a casualty. The ambulance service has said a man in his mid-40s was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with chest, head and back pain.
The collision involved a BMW X3, a Fiat Punto, a Peugot 307, a Renault truck and a Ford Maverick.
Recovery of two vehicles is underway and delays should be expected.
A further collision involving two Ford Fiestas in the outer lane occurred at about the same time. Both vehicles are now off the carriageway.
