The future of a Bury St Edmunds hotel is uncertain after its operator, Barinbrook Limited, went into administration last month.

The Quality Hotel, formerly The Ramada in Symonds Road, on Bury’s Moreton Hall estate, is one of six leasehold hotels operated by Barinbrook, formerly known as Akkeron Hotels (Admiral) Limited.

The hotel refused to comment on the situation but administrator Zolfo Cooper said it would continue to trade as usual ‘while the available options are assessed’.

Peter Holder, Nick Cropper and Anne O’Keefe, partners at advisory and restructuring specialists Zolfo Cooper, were appointed joint administrators on February 26.

Barinbrook’s other hotels include the Himley Hotel in Dudley, Cromwell Hotel in Stevenage and Quality Hotels in Peterborough, Kings Lynn and Colchester.

Peter Holder, partner at Zolfo Cooper, said: “We are assessing the available options and would like to thank the staff for their continued support and professionalism during this process.”
