Two men have been arrested after 10 metres of copper cable was discovered inside the boot of a car.

Two men have been arrested after 10 metres of copper cable was discovered inside the boot of a car.

At 12.30am this morning (Feb 11) officers spotted a suspicious vehicle on the A1065 near to the junction with the B1112 towards Eriswell.

Officers followed the vehicle for a short time and pulled it over in Station Road, Lakenheath, where checks were carried out.

Approximately 10 metres of cable was found in the boot.

A 24-year-old man from Thetford and a 32-year-old man from Brandon were arrested on suspicion of theft and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, they have since been released on bail.
