Thousands flocked to Mildenhall’s Jubilee Fields on Saturday for the town’s annual Lark in the Park event.
Despite a gloomy morning, more than 3,000 people joined in the fun throughout the day.
Live music, model aeroplane demonstrations, a car show, bouncy castles, food and craft stalls and cray fishing on the River Lark were among the host of entertainment laid out by Mildenhall Parish Council.
Event organiser Mandy Maguire said the day was a terrific success.
She said: “There was a consistent stream of people coming along all day.
“It was a great day and the weather managed to hold out for us.
“The children enjoyed themselves as well – we had a climbing wall, a bungee trampoline, a bouncy castle and of course the cray fishing.
“Everyone had a great time lining up and fishing on the banks of the river lark.
“We also had four live bands on stage which were really well received with everyone sitting round on hay bails listening to the show.
“Then we had a DJ playing electro swing music after that.”
The event even included a council surgery where residents could speak to their parish representatives
“We are now looking to start the planning for next year’s event and hopefully make it even bigger and better,” said Mandy.
