Thieves steal thousands of pounds worth of marine equipment in Worlington

Police are linking two crimes that took place in the Forest Heath area on Tuesday.

Thieves were disturbed in a hotel car park in Mildenhall Road, Worlington, between 11.40pm and 11.50pm, where they had broken into a box trailer containing marine equipment.

Three offenders were seen fleeing the scene in a dark coloured estate vehicle.

They made off with thousands of pounds worth of equipment, including an outboard engine, dry suits and underwater camera equipment.

The other incident took place about an hour earlier, between 10.20pm and 10.40pm, in Eriswell Road, Lakenheath.

An attempt was made to steal an irrigation system from behind the pavilion.

The offenders were disturbed and made off empty-handed in a black estate car with a trailer on the back.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in either area or who may have seen a car matching this description.
