Thetford assault leaves man with broken jaw

A man’s jaw and collar bone were broken during an attack in Thetford last weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted in King Street, Thetford, at around 2.15am on Saturday.

The victims, aged 20 and 21, were walking through the town centre when they were approached by two men near to Lloyds Bank.

One of the men punched the 21-year-old in the face and as his friend tried to intervene, he was also punched in the face causing him to fall over. The victims fled and called police.

The 20-year-old, who was knocked to the floor, was later taken to hospital where he was found to have a broken jaw and a broken collar bone.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 5ft 11in tall, with shaved hair.

He was wearing a silver/grey Puffa jacket and spoke with an Eastern European accent.
