Teenager arrested on suspicion of theft from car in Stowmarket

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of theft from motor vehicle in Stowmarket.

Police were called around 11.30pm yesterday (February 20) to reports from a member of the public that there were two teenagers acting suspiciously around cars in Cricket Meadows.

Officers, who have been patrolling the town following a spate of burglaries, attended the scene and witnessed two males running from the area.

One male was arrested nearby.

The teenager, who is from Stowmarket, remains in custody at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
