Teams are preparing to get wet, wild and wacky for West Suffolk Hospital’s flagship fund-raising event – It’s a Bury Knockout.

Fourteen teams will tackle a series of obstacles and games in the third annual Knockout, on Hardwick Heath, on Sunday, July 13.

There will be a wealth of family fun including fairground rides, a climbing wall and laser quest arena as well as a variety demonstrations, stalls and refreshments.

It will support many different areas of the hospital’s work including the neonatal unit and businessman Ben Lord’s Arthrose Appeal to buy equipment for the trauma and orthopaedic unit.

Last year’s event attracted 2,000 people and raised £14,000.

The event is sponsored by Bury estate agents Taylor Engall with support by Bury Round Table, Premier Printers and Bury St Edmunds District Scouts and Explorers.

Dave Gooderham, fund-raising manager, said: “It’s fantastic we have received so much support from local businesses and organisations.”

It’s a Knockout runs from noon to 4pm.
