Suffolk County Council has said it has taken ‘Appropriate disciplinary action’ against a teacher who brought a gun into a class.
Police investigated allegations in March that a teacher pointed a gun at a pupil’s head and threatened to kill him at an unnamed educational unit.
The unit was temporarily closed while police investigated. The teacher surrendered a de-commissioned antique firearm. Police said they were ‘satisfied’ no crime had been committed.
The BBC has now reported that the teacher has been sacked. A council spokesman said: “We can confirm that appropriate disciplinary action has been taken following an incident at one of our education centres.
“For legal reasons, we are unable to comment on matters relating to individual members of staff.”
