Police have opposed the approval of a licence allowing the sale of alcohol at a kebab shop in Beck Row.
The decision to approve or refuse the sale of alcohol at Anatolia Kebabs, Holmsey Green, will be made by Forest Heath District Council,on Friday.
Police have said granting a licence for the sale of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises would lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour.
The take away has applied to sell alcohol between noon and 11.30pm Monday toSaturday and noon and 10.30pm on Sundays.
Suffolk Police said the approval would enable ‘the premises to become a hybrid of a take away and a public house’.
They said: “we believe that the change of use will lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour and crime both within and nearby the premises.”
Beck Row, Holywell Row and Kenny Hill Parish Council has objected to the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises, but not on the premises.
