A Barrow resident has labelled potholes in the village among West Suffolk’s worst.

Following an appeal in the Bury Free Press, Pete Fordham sent in a number of photographs he had taken of potholes between Barrow’s Burthorpe Green and its junction with New Road.

He said: “We have a series of them in Barrow which must be strong contenders.

“They have been this way for quite a while, despite me having reported them.”

Meanwhile, Jo Sanger has been in touch about a pothole she encountered in Bury St Edmunds in January 2012.

She says she broke her ankle when she stepped into it outside her son’s school exit in St Andrew’s Street North.

A spokesman for Suffolk County Council, which has received a cash boost of almost £3million to repair potholes in the county, was unavailable for comment.
