A Stowmarket man has been charged with rape following an incident in Norwich.

At some point between just after midnight and 12.30am early on Friday morning a woman in her 20s was attacked in the St Helens Wharf car park near to the Adam and Eve public house, according to a Norfolk Police spokesman.

Clive Howard, 56, of Bury Street, Stowmarket, has been charged with rape and will appear before Norwich Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

Police are still keen to hear from any witnesses and should contact Detective Sergeant Chris Burgess on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
