Last month was the third wettest October since 1992 with 94mm of rain falling.
Alan Messem recorded the heaviest rainfall between the evening of October 27 and 10am on October 28.
This was caused by the arrival of St Jude’s Storm which bought 21mm of rain and the wettest October day in Bury St Edmunds since 2007.
The month had started drier with only 5mm of rain falling during the first eight days.
However following this dry spell 41mm fell in four days from October 10.
From October 18 some rain almost every day for the remainder of the month.
