Court report

Court report

A man convicted of stalking his ex-partner has been issued with a two-year community penalty.

Last month, Keith Stuart Cornish, 51, of Field Way, Stanton, was found guilty of pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to stalking Amanda Rose, including befriending her elderly neighbours and applying to become a volunteer driver at her place of work.

At his sentencing hearing at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court yesterday, he was given a two-year restraining order preventing contact with the victim or any of her family members, going to an address in Ingham or going to Cornwallis Court, in Bury St Edmunds.

He also received a two-year community order to include supervision and a Building Better Relationships programme, and was ordered to pay costs of £625 and a £60 victim surcharge.
