Kentford electors are being asked for their final comments on a request from Kentford Parish Council to increase the number of its councillors from five to seven.
Forest Heath District Council, which is leading a governance review on the proposal, has consulted residents, councillors and other interested parties.
The majority of respondents (42 of 48) agreed with the increase and Forest Heath decided to proceed with the proposal in principle when it met on July 16.
The proposal is to have seven councillors elected for the whole parish. There would not be any individual electoral wards in view of the size of the parish.
There is now a further chance to comment on the final proposal.
Any further comments should be submitted by September 12, before being finally considered by Forest Heath’s full Council on October 8.
The change would come into effect in time for the elections in May 2015.
