Sainsbury’s in Bury St Edmunds gears up for Comic Relief

A team of will be setting off from Sainsbury’s in Bury St Edmunds at 8am on March 11 and cycling 83 miles to the head office in London.

Produce manager Tom Smith, Dale and Lee Sturman whose mum works on customer services and Tom’s friend Glen Morris will undertake the cycle challenge is part of the stores fund-raising efforts for Comic Relief. The four men holpe to complete the ride in four hours.

The store also has five ladies who will give up their Mother’s Day on March 10 to walk 18.5 miles from Bury St Edmunds to Clare, again for Comic Relief.

They have been out walking every week for the past month, paying £1 each time towards Comic Relief and gaining sponsors.

Sainsbury’s in Bury will also be holding a tombola, while a charity bingo night will be held in the cafe on March 11.
