Ickworth House’s annual gathering of Napoleonic wars re-enactors was bigger than ever this year as the groups prepare for next year’s bicentenary of Waterloo.
The 95th Rifles and Royal Artillery group have brought their battlefield camp recreation to the National Trust house since 1998. This year there were about 15 other regiments, including those recreating French and Silesian units.
Ickworth House’s Sue Borges said: “They lay out the camp as it would have been at the time. It’s not just about the engagement. I was very impressed.”
