Girls Night Out sees hundreds of women join together to raise money for St Nicholas Hospice Care and this year organisers want to make it bigger than ever.
In 2013 more than 1,000 women created a sea of fund-raisers who walked through the town in pyjamas and flashing bunny ears, raising more than £115,000.
The Bury Free Press and St Nicholas Hospice Care are calling for more woman than ever before to sign up and walk either six or 11.2 miles on September 13 to support the hospice and the care it delivers.
Jenny Baskett, hospice events and challenges fund-raiser, said: “We were overwhelmed by the reaction to the 2013 Girls Night Out - we had amazing feedback from everyone who took part.
“Now, we are aiming to make this year’s walk even bigger and better.
“To do that, we are appealing for women to sign up for the walk, bring their friends and family and, of course, be ready for a party.
“All we ask is that participants wear pyjamas – or the T-shirt every walker will receive - comfortable footwear and do their best to raise sponsorship. All the funds raised by Girls Night Out will help to support patients and families in West Suffolk and Thetford.”
Registration for the walk opens today, with an early sign-up offer of £10 per person valid until May 31 (£15 registration June 1 onwards).
To register, fill out the coupon in this week’s Bury Free Press and send it, along with your registration fee, to: Events and Challenges Fund-raiser, St Nicholas Hospice Care, Hardwick Lane, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 2QY.
