Anyone spotted not wearing pink at the Moreton Hall pub’s music concert last Thursday was asked to pay a charitable fine.
The idea was the brainchild of Sylvia Smith, 53, who works at the pub and lives above it.
In September she was diagnosed with breast cancer and has since undergone a mastectomy and begun a monthly course of chemotherapy.
Around £300 was raised at the pink event, which will go directly to West Suffolk Hospital’s breast cancer unit.
“I was gob-smacked, everyone was brilliant” said Miss Smith, grateful for the support people have shown her.
