Power cut hits West Row homes

News from the Bury Free Press

News from the Bury Free Press

UK Power Networks engineers are working to restore power to 30 properties in West Row this afternoon.

Electricity supplies were initially interrupted to 29 properties at 12.36pm today when an overhead line came down in a field in West Row.

A UKPN spokeswoman said: “We had to isolate supplies to a further 237 properties at 2.09pm but restored supply to 236 of those after four minutes.”

“We understand how inconvenient it is to be without power and we apologise to customers still without electricity supplies while we mend the damage cable.

“While we cannot say for sure why the overhead cable has come down, it may have been because of the stormy weather over the weekend.”

Power should be back by 6.30pm. For up to date power cut details, see the UKPN powercut map
