Police are warning people to be on their guard after an attempted robbery in Red Lodge.

A woman in her thirties, was walking along Warren Road near Boundary Road between 7.55pm and 8.15pm on Wednesday, with her mobile phone in her hand, when she was approached by a man who had shouted at her to give him the phone.

She refused and the man then tried to grab the phone and struck her on the head, but she kicked out in self-defence and he let go of the phone and ran off.

The man is described as 5ft 9in to 6ft tall, wearing a dark zip-up hooded top with a dark cap worn underneath, dark trousers and black or navy trainers. He spoke with an English accent.
