A couple who died in a two vehicle crash on Wednesday have been named by police.
Emergency services were called to the A143 at Great Barton at around 10.45am on Wednesday following a report of a collision involving a Renault Megane and a HGV lorry.
Two people in the car, Lindsay and Georgina Wise, aged 85 and 87, of Michaelhouse Way, Stanton, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The couple’s sons, Jeff and Laurie Wise, have issued the following tribute: “Our family has yet to come to terms with the sudden loss of our parents, and our children’s grandparents, in a tragic road accident.
“Kind, generous and unassuming, they brought us into this world and looked after us all, unfaltering, for more than 60 years.
“We now have to let them go, thankfully together, and with tremendous gratitude for their love, guidance and devotion.”
Anyone who witnessed the accident and has not yet contacted police is asked to call Pc Dean Webb at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
