Fire crews had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to free a person from the wreckage of a collision between a van and truck on Wednesday evening.

Crews from Brandon and Bury St Edmunds were called to the collision on Elmswell Road, Barnham, just before 5pm and freed the driver from the wreckage of the Ford Escort van.

Police said both drivers were taken to West Suffolk Hospital, the van driver with leg fractures and the truck driver with minor injuries. The road was blocked while the vehicles were recovered.
